As gay travelers we sadly have an extra layer of work that we need to execute before embarking on a trip abroad. How SAFE is it to be Male lover in Jamaica at Sandals Negril?

Last week I had the opportunity to move to Jamaica for the first second to experience the Sandals Negril Spa and Beach Resort. After my previous Sandals experience, I was excited to see if Negril would welcome me as warmly as the St Lucian Grande Spa and Beach Resort did a few weeks ago.

For those of us in the LGBTQ people, Jamaica has one of the worst reputations for our people's treatment. I was expecting a very diverse experience for this trip and was prepared to compose a long speech about why Jamaica should be avoided at all costs. I'm happy to report that traveling to a resort in Jamaica is just as relaxing as traveling to a resort in St Lucia (or anywhere else for that matter).

I want to emphasize that the type of vacation I'm referring to is what

Overall, yes, Sandals Resorts are LGBTQ+ friendly, but in this article, we are going to in-depth about what it is enjoy to visit Sandals Resorts and the Caribbean in general if you are not a straight cis couple.

The LGBT Encounter at Sandals

Travelers should feel comfortable at any Sandals Resort as an LGBT couple. As we visited every Sandals Resort we would usually spot 1 or 2 homosexual couples at each resort. Recently, there was a gay couple wearing t-shirts making it clear they were on their honeymoon and they received plenty of compliments.

The staff treats gay couples the same as other couples. For example, at dinner, we saw the photographer directing a gay couple to pose in the same way they directed a straight couple.

Other guests are just love you find anywhere else, some are outgoing and may be friendly while others might keep to themselves, but that isn’t different for a vertical person.

Sandals Is Still Expecting Straight Couples

As LGBT couples are the minority at a Sandals Resort you can still predict to be asked if your spouses will be joining you when you are standing right next to them. When two adults are together making reservations, they will likely
