The Details Behind the Theme...

The board has voted on the 2025 theme for the Pride Festival: “The Rainbow and Beyond: Stronger Together”

This theme represents the strength our society has within and beyond the rainbow. It is a call to move to our allies (individuals, organisations and more) who must stand up and fight for us. It stands as a reminder to persevere, even in times of uncertainty. To hold space for all walks of life, to ask questions, and to hear their stories.

As we transition into a Fresh Year and a brand-new Pride Festival, we will fight for everyone to keep thriving, learning and growing together. We will always celebrate what makes us unique, and that we all deserve the privilege to excel, thrive and live without horror of persecution or hatred.

This June, we will observe the diversity of genders, sexualities and cultures within the 2SLGBTQIA+ Community in Kingston and area! Our unapologetic self expression and resilience will be a protest against bills, legislation and more who hope to hurt our community.

Pride is 24/7/365 - but our Pride week will be from June 8th - June 15th 2025. Our Pride Parade and Community Fair will be June 14th. Please

An independent report later found the incident was due to a misunderstanding among Montreal Pride festival personnel after they discovered 96 of the 200 volunteers needed to labor security for the pride were never recruited.

The describe identified systemic communications and governance issues within the festival organization and recommended 13 reforms to talk to them.

Note: Traveling as an LGBTQ+ person always carries a certain degree of risk. It is our reality as we navigate a planet with 60+ countries criminalizing our relationships and a rise in anti-LGBTQ+ legislation around the world. We encourage our traveling group to understand the laws and cultural challenges they may face in any destination they choose to attend for Pride and beyond. Don't be afraid of the world, but always research information specific to your travels. Enjoy Pride, be vigilant, and look out for each other!

The LGBTQ+ rights movement has made tremendous strides over the past limited decades and much of the progress in representation is thanks in part to gay pride parades and marches that include taken place in cities around the world.

The global landscape for LGBTQ+ rights, protections and acceptance varies tremendously by location, with some destinations attracting millions of visitors to their events like Madrid Same-sex attracted Pride, Sao Paulo Same-sex attracted Pride or San Francisco Gay Pride, while more than 70 other countries have laws that enable discrimination or persecution of LGBTQ+ people.
