Why is jennifer coolidge a gay icon
Gay icon and now TV’s golden girl, how Jennifer Coolidge won over the world
There’s no denying that Jennifer Coolidge took over one of biggest TV and film events across the pond last night at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards.
For, although it was not the Oscars – (even though at one point the actor mistakenly called the award she was presenting an Oscar – instead of a Globe) – her own acceptance speech as best supporting actress in a limited series was worthy of one itself.
But even before her own win, she had already won over the audience. Through a hilarious four-minute explanation sharing her anxieties over presenting an award, Jennifer revealed that not only had she been left terrified of falling over, she’d even considered wearing a pair of Crocs under her Dolce and Gabbana dress.
By the end of the night, her hypnotic mixture of chaos and perfection won the 61-year-old actor huge praise from her legion of fans – with one Twitter user begging her to ‘host my life’, while another said basically everything we all agree with: ‘Jennifer is an absolute legend. She’s hilarious, talented, authentic and the caring of person everyone wants as a best friend.’

Jennifer Coolidge's queer fandom rejoices at 'long overdue' first Emmy win
Queer fans of Jennifer Coolidge hold been lighting up social media since Monday night, when the actor and gay icon won her first Emmy — a recognition that was called “long overdue.”
They also blasted the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for seeming to perform Coolidge off the stage during her acceptance speech, which Coolidge took in stride as she danced along to the music that was meant to wave her away and continue the show.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing,” she pleaded just before an instrumental version of “Hit the Road Jack” started to play. “Wait, hold on!”
The 61-year-old actor struggled to thank people — “I didn’t ponder this was going to happen,” she said — after walking onstage to CeCe Peniston’s tune “Finally” to admit her first award, for outstanding supporting actress in a limited or anthology series, from the television academy despite having spent decades in Hollywood.
True to form, she also lobbed a rare jokes.
“You know, I took a lavender bath tonight, right before the reveal, and it made me swell up inside my dress, and I’m having a hard second speaking,” she qu
Jennifer Coolidge is spilling the tea on why she has a huge homosexual following.
The longtime queer legend recently talked about why she thinks she has been embraced by the LGBTQ community with such love.
Coolidge, 60, has been a queer crowdpleaser and laugh-out-loud fixture in a number of camp classics over the past two decades, including “Legally Blond” and “Best in Show.” She was recently seen in the HBO pandemic-era hit comedy “The Pale Lotus.”
In her latest feature, the Netflix Christmas homosexual holiday rom-com “Single All The Way,” Coolidge plays kooky Aunt Sandy.
In one of her lines, a self-referential dog whistle to her rainbow-powered fan build, Aunt Sandy says that “the gays know how to do stuff. For some reason, they are always obsessed with me.”
In a recent interview with The A.V. Club to promote the film, Coolidge was asked if she had any idea why she had such a “big queer fandom.” She answered that the treasure is mutual, and that it has always been this way.
“It just started from a very adolescent age,” she said. “I don’t think when you’re young, you’re very alert of
