Tucker Knox was a contestant on season 10 of Fox’s So You Ponder You Can Dance competition.

I don’t think I’ve ever watched a single episode but I know plenty of people who just love it.

So Tucker is gay but apparently has never discussed that publicly.

Over the weekend, he decided to do it in the low-key way that an increasing number of people are choosing: via social media.

He posted the photo (left) with this message: “I’m gonna start a “fall help Friday” mainly cuz I miss the hubs and that beach!”

Former 'So You Think You Can Dance' Winner Comes Out

A winner of the popular Fox life show, "So You Think You Can Dance," recently announced that he is gay, Reality Blurred reported.

Benji Schwimmer was crowned the champion of the hit show's second season in 2006 but the choreographer is now opening up about his sexuality. He announced that he is gay in a lengthy interview with the Mormon Stories Podcast called "Mormon Stories."

In the interview Schwimmer reportedly discusses how he struggled with being queer and being a practicing Mormon. He tells emotional stories of how coming out impacted his life, dancing career and those he loves.

Last year Travis Wall, a finalist on the show's second season, also announced that he was gay.

"When I was 18 and on the show it was very stressful to find the equilibrate of being yourself and coming across in an legitimate way," Wall told After Elton in an interview. "I felt like the only time it was a short-lived stressful was maybe when they interviewed me or... I don't know... I never had to put on a front like that, but it's right that I wanted to be in the top ten, and I wanted to go all the way closer to the foremost, and maybe it's not

Travis Walldug deep for a routine he choreographed on “So You Think You Can Dance” for the live show on Monday night, August 27, when the Top 6 contestants performed. Contemporary dancer Darius Hickmanwas paired with a “Sytycd” all-star, season 14 finalist Taylor Sieve, for a bold, risk-taking routine to Damien Rice‘s “It Takes a Lot to Know a Man” that challenged standards of gender expression. Watch their act above.

Wall’s choreography was inspired by his own exposure of coming out of the closet as same-sex attracted, after which he experienced bullying and ridicule. So in his dance Darius embodied a more traditionally feminine form of gender expression, while Taylor played the more masculine role, representing the negativity, rejection and toxic masculinity that Darius must fight against to live as his more authentic self. After Darius thwarted Taylor he reapplied his lipstick to close the performance, proving his self-acceptance.

An art as antique as time; expressive, fluid, storytelling. A dancer’s life is not one that is ordinary but extraordinary. Bodies engaged in song, voluntary movements weaving together and accompanying sound. We sit and we watch in awe; humans fond you and I achieving greatness before our eyes. An adagio or interpretive dance, something electric or something ethereal and magnetic; Luke’s life has been a concierto, unfolding in front of us, at times privately and at times publicly. To applaud and go after or to silently sit and monitor. All together, it is an memorable performance and the best is yet to come.

Tell me a little bit about your childhood.

I had a nice childhood with loving parents and two older brothers. My parents did split up, but they did their upmost to keep us on the right track. I was bullied a short-lived at school, but I believe that made me more determined to thrive in life.

What are five things people don’t know about you?

I love house comforts. I’m a foodie! I adoration to cook and eat! I’m a sensitive soul. I can be very impatient. I detest liars.

You were second runner up on “So You Consider You Can Dance”

so you think you can dance who is gay

"SoYouThink You Can Dance" is show that runs on physical skill and sexual chemistry, but up until now, that chemistry's been pretty heterosexual.

Although the dancers in the show do occasionally pair up in same-sex duets, as gay site The Backlot notes, those duets are always very pointedly unromantic. (Think Sharks vs. Jets, not Tony and Maria.)

Which is why the show's opening number on Wednesday night was so groundbreaking.

The final four competitors danced to the ballad "Wind Beneath My Wings." Where another choreographer might have paired them off in the heterosexual couples the show's audience is accustomed to, "So You Think You Can Dance" veteran Travis Wall decided to do things a little differently.

The dancers, clad in white dresses or white suits that seem almost wedding-inspired, stabilize their weight on their partners as they twist and turn.

Together, they're graceful and loving and proud.

Although as part of the opening number the choreography was presented without preamble, Wall posted a triumphant photo to his Instagram Thursday with a single word as a caption: "#Equality."
