Reel Affirmations 2023 - DC’s LGBTQ+ Film Festival (Live Screenings)

DC’s LGBTQ+ Film Festival Turns 30!! Reel Affirmations has been presenting Gay films in Washington, DC, since 1993, and from Oct. 20 – Oct. 22, is showing unbelievable lineup of 32 compelling and revealing films from 22 countries in the private screening room at the Eaton Hotel (limited seating available so offer tickets asap). From Love affair to Erotic Thrillers, to Comedy, Drama, Sci-Fi and Animation, this LGBTQ+ production festival has something for everyone! Plus, there’s an epic 30th Anniversary bash at the Eaton Hotel on Saturday, Oct 21 from 8:00 to 10:00pm, so come out and revel at the ‘Reel Gleeful Celebration’ hosted by The DC LGBTQ+ Community Center, with music by local legend DJ MIM. For those who cannot attend in person, the Reel Affirmations Virtual Film Festival provides online access to 43 films, with a viewing window from Oct. 23 to Oct. 29th. With the good fortune of evidence editing equipment at the Corcoran Museum and a fantastically relevant song from Casse Culver, and with barely a frame to spare from 200′ of Ektachrome, he produced the 5-minute film you can see today

In the frame of World Pride 2025, Villa Albertine D.C. is delighted to present a reviewing of the 2023 Queer Palm contender at the Cannes Film Festival,Along Came Love, at La Maison Française.

In 1947, on a beach in Normandy, Madeleine, a waitress and young mother, meets François, a wealthy, and worldy scholar. They hit it off immediately, as though it were fate. But as their destinies intertwine, it’s obvious what Madeline wants to leave behind, while the world that François is running from is only slowly revealed.
