The Gist: Bunny Schneiderman (Nathan Lane) and Arthur Broussard (Nathan Lee Graham) is at the funeral of their close friend Charlie, who was a life-giving member of their ally group. They’re both melancholy that the group is forever changed; it won’t be the four of them ever again.

Mid-Century Modern is coming soon to Hulu, and viewers are getting their first look at the comedy series from the creators of Will & Grace. The streaming service has released a trailer showing off the comedy.
Nathan Path, Matt Bomer, Nathan Lee Graham, and the late Linda Lavin star in the series, which follows three queer best friends who move in together in Palm Springs. Pamela Adlon, Vanessa Bayer, Kimberly Coles, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Judd Hirsch, Richard Kind, Stephanie Koenig, Billie Lourd, Esther Moon Wu, Jaime Moyer, Cheri Oteri, Rhea Perlman, and Zane Phillips will also appear in the series.

What can you expect with Hulu's new queer, Palm Springs-set series "Mid-Century Modern"? Co-writer Max Mutchnick said it best in a recent interview: "This is not your mama's sitcom."
The novel 10-episode series, starring Matt Bomer, Nathan Lane, Nathan Lee Graham and the late Linda Lavin, follows three gay best friends — Bunny Schneiderman (Lane), Jerry Frank (Bomer) and Arthur Broussard (Graham) — who, after an unexpected death, decide to consume their golden years in Palm Springs, where Bunny lives with his mother, Sybil (Lavin, in her last role). Throughout the show, the trio gets into plenty of shenanigans, whether it's by navigating dating as older men, managing tough coworkers or getting along with each other and family members. But there's also sweet sentimental moments about the importance of chosen family. "This friendship is my love story. Yes, it's sexless and annoying, but what long-lasting adoration story isn't?" Bunny says to his friends in the pilot episode.

'Mid-Century Modern' brings friendship, entertaining and lots of laughs to Hulu
LOS ANGELES -- Hulu's newest sitcom "Mid-Century Modern" is being likened to the iconic "Golden Girls."
Instead of four women living together in Miami, this one's about three gay men living together in Palm Springs.
Plus, there is a fourth person to help deliver the laughter: the late, fantastic Linda Lavin, who plays the mom to Nathan Lane's character.
Sadly, Lavin died during production, and her death hit the cast hard.
"This was an remarkable actress who could execute comedy or drama equally well, and if you ever saw her on stage live, you saw how remarkable she was," said Lane.
Lane said some of the comedy in "Mid-Century Modern" asks you to do a small tap dancing along the edge.
"Because it's on Hulu, we have a lot more freedom in terms of language and situation, and so we can be a little more outrageous than you can be on a network show," he said.
Along with Matt Bomer, Nathan Lee Graham is also part of the fun.
He said he's always been proficient to "act" by using his face.
